Day 1

Day 2

City tour - Folk Museum - Casa de Aguletsi

Breakfast at the hotel.
City Tour of Yerevan. It is a city founded in the year 782 a.C., thus being one of the oldest cities in the world.
During the circuit you will see the Republic Square which was designed by the traditional style of Armenian architecture and includes Government House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Mail, the National Art Gallery. Along with all the main monuments of the capital you will see also "Cat statue" by the famous sculptor Fernando Botero located in the open-air museum and modern art center Cafesjian in Cascada.
You will climb the Waterfall to enjoy the panoramic view of Yerevan, as well as visit the Opera House. Visit the Popular Art Museum, a unique cultural center that exhibits applied, decorative and fine arts. Now the museum has a rich collection of around 12,000 pieces of old and contemporary folk art.
Here the Armenian embroidery has a special corner where we will have a master class to create a small work of art for ourselves. We invite here a professional and experienced embroiderer who will introduce you the secrets of spear work and traditional Armenian embroidery.
Today our welcome dinner will take place in a unique place, the home of the famous contemporary Armenian painter and ethnographer, perfect representative of the Armenian woman, Lusik Aguletsi. His heirs decided to give visitors the opportunity to taste national dishes in the house that has preserved national values, turning the house into a house museum and a cozy Art-café. Entering your home is like entering an old Armenian house. You feel the warmth of the famous Armenian hospitality created by the host, the traditional interior and decoration, Aguletsi items such as silver belts, necklaces and other jewelry, national costumes, handbags, carpets and doilies, headdresses and other typical Armenian attributes. for women.

Day 3

Yerevan - Zvartnots - Echmiadzin - Musaler - Brandy Factory

Departure to Armavir. We will visit the ruins of the temple of Zvartnots (heavenly angels). It is the pearl of 7th century architecture, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its construction began in 642 under the direction of the Catholic Nerses III, who built the majestic cathedral dedicated to Saint Gregory in the place where a meeting between King Trdat III and Gregory the Illuminator was supposed to take place.
We visit the Cathedral of Echmiadzin which is one of the oldest churches in the world.
On the way we make a stop in the village of Musaler to visit a local house and attend a master class of Armenian cuisine of sujukh sweet nut and cat, one of the favorite Armenian desserts with tea. Our owner, Mrs Zara, is a former television presenter, who used to host celebrities to prepare Armenian recipes together. She will share with us Armenian brewing techniques, and secrets on the coffee/tea table.
Return to Yerevan. We visited a brandy factory. Cognacs from Armenia distinguish a variety and a wider spectrum of taste. It was for something that Armenian cognac was Winston Churchill’s favorite.

Day 4

Yerevan- Khor Virap - The Cellar of ''Tushpa'' - Yeghegndzor

Excursion to the monastery of Khor-Virap (4th-17th centuries). The monastery of Khor-Virap has a very rich history both religious and world. It is situated in the valley of Ararat against the biblical mountain Ararat, where the ark of Noah stopped. The significance is that he is connected with Gregory the Illuminator, who introduced Christianity to Armenia and is considered the first Catholic of Armenia.
Along the way we will visit a wine cellar to taste the wine of native grapes. In Yeghegnadzor and we cannot miss the opportunity to visit a local master’s degree established by the Smithsonian Center for Folk Life and Cultural Heritage.
We will have the opportunity to participate in a master class of willow weaving, in which the master will show you how to weave baskets, vases and vessels with willow branches that grow in the river Arpa.

Day 5

Yeghegnadzor – Tatev – Verinshen – Goris

Breakfast.
Output Towards Tatev, which is an architectural masterpiece often called a monastery built on the edge of nowhere. We will reach the Monastery through the longest cable car in the world called "Tatev’s Wings" (closed on Mondays), inscribed in the book Guinness World Records. Continue to the village of Verinshen, which is a rural community famous for sheep breeding and the preparation of traditional Armenian carpets with sheep wool. The Goris Women’s Resource Centre has created sustainable income opportunities for economically disadvantaged women and during the visit we will have the opportunity to meet these women and take a tour of the centre. The tour begins at the wool factory where traditional and modern wool washing techniques are introduced. The wool is dried and processed in the relevant departments, where local women burn and spin it. Here guests can participate in the drawing and threading process. The yarn is used to wrap carpets and fabrics, where guests can also participate. Finally, in a small souvenir room there will be a local sweet cat treatment. The women we will meet during this visit are women from vulnerable groups, such as women from low-income families, women with disabilities and women who have suffered domestic violence.
Finally we head to the town of Goris, a small town of about 20,000 inhabitants, beautifully framed by high mountains. Located in a bowl of hills and green mountains, with interesting formations and many previously inhabited caves, Goris is very special for its architecture.

Day 6

Goris - Selim- Noratus - Cheese factory - Sevan lake - Tsaghkunq

After breakfast in the hotel of Goris, we went to cross the pass of Selim to visit the medieval caravanserai of Selim, an important trading post on the Great Silk Road through which the caravans arrived in Armenia.
We will continue towards Noratus, a small village on the lake. The village is famous for its "forest of Khachkars", dating from the 7th-10th centuries. Here we will also visit a local family that runs a cheese factory and get acquainted with the techniques of cheese production. Our host will offer us special cheeses made with wine and brandy, followed by a tasty homemade lunch. In a local house where we go to see the making of Armenian cheese.
Departure to Lake Sevan, the Pearl of Armenia and the largest freshwater alpine lake in the Caucasian region. Overnight in Sevan at Tsaghkunq Guesthouse.

Day 7

Sevan – Dilijan – Fioletovo – Gyumri

We left towards the forest region of Dilijan ("Small Switzerland of Armenia"), one of the most famous tourist resorts in Armenia. People say, "If in Paradise there would be mountains, forests and mineral springs, it would be Dilijan". It is located basically in the forest, from all corners surrounded by the Dilijan National Park, which has a rich biodiversity, numerous mineral springs, as well as natural and cultural monuments. We visited a small village of molocanes (Fioletovo) where we will have the opportunity to enjoy tea "samоvar" and sweets of the Molocins, who are a national minority derived from Russia and who did not accept orthodox Christianity, because they oppose the veneration of icons. They are thus known because they are forbidden to taste alcohol and because formerly they drank milk in a ritual way on Wednesdays and Fridays (molokan means "milk drinker"), despite the fasts imposed by the Orthodox.
City tour of Gyumri, with a walk through the old quarter and local market. Gyumri is known for its disastrous earthquake of 1988 that destroyed the city; despite that tourists will see the rebirth of the city with its old and new buildings.

Day 8

Gyumri - Byurakan - Ara people - Abovyan - Yerevan

After breakfast we visited the gallery of the sisters Mariam and Eranuhi Aslamazyan, strong and courageous women who broke many stereotypes in their time. The Aslamazyan sisters were the first female artists in Soviet Armenia, and about 620 original works of the sisters are presented in the museum. We will familiarize ourselves with their art and interesting life history, inspirations, motivations and artistic styles.
It’s time to explore your creative side, we started our workshop working with ceramics creating different images with the help of local tutors. You can save the created works as an extension of memories to the village of Byurakan to participate in an interactive '''Tonatsuyts Folk Theatre''. The main objective is the presentation of ancient Armenian songs, dances, games, puppets, legends and instrumental music, involving participants in the show for fun.
Departure to Aragyugh to visit the cosmetic factory of Nairian, where high quality natural cosmetics are grown with plants. During the visit the guests will walk through the garden surrounding the laboratory, where experimental plants are grown; you will meet the agronomist and other people working with the land, and you will know some plants carrying essential oils and their medicinal properties. They will meet with the specialist, who will explain the whole process. Some days may also be present in the process of obtaining the oil. We will delight you with a light outdoor buffet lunch and a herbal infusion.
Return to Yerevan.

Day 9

Yerevan - House of Art ''Masoor'' - Garni - Geghard - Yerevan

In the house Masur you can learn about Armenian culture, acquire new skills, eat and take master classes if you wish. is the only art house in Armenia where you can know the biography and literary heritage of Armenian intellectuals of the twentieth century (Zapele Yesayan, Srbuhi Tusap, Siran Seza and other notable women).
Departure to Garni (at 32 km), a village that is famous for its pagan temple Garni, which was built in the century after Christ by the Armenians I Kingdom and was probably dedicated to the Hellenistic dios Mitra. The temple stands on a triangular layer, it is the only example of the pagan culture that survived in Armenia.
We left for the Geghard Monastery declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Monastery of Gueghard is the unsurpassed masterpiece of 13th century Armenian architecture. Some of the churches of the complex are masterfully carved into a huge rock. Due to its construction and acoustics Geghardavank is the best place to sing spiritual songs.
