Your Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Tbilisi
- Arrival in Tbilisi and transfer to hotel.
Day 2
Tbilisi
- Breakfast
- Walking through the historic streets of old town of Tbilisi, we will enjoy the unique combination of cultures.
- During the tour we see several religious buildings: churches, synagogues, mosques, wooden houses built in the nineteenth century with colorful balconies, sulphur baths and the fortress of Narikala.
- Free time in the second half of the day.
- Accommodation in Tbilisi.
Day 3
Tbilisi - Svetitskhoveli - Uplistsikhe - Gori
Bike tour: 61 km 6 hrs (↑640 m. ↓520 m)
- Breakfast
- In the morning, we head to the old town of Mtskheta and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the beautiful cathedral of Svetitskhoveli. Then we’ll adjust the bikes and start our 8-day bike adventure.
- We will go by bike to the city of the Uplistsikhe cave. Visit the cave of Uplistsikhe, formerly connected with the Silk Road. The glorious castle-town is now an open-air museum and deservedly considered one of the most important tourist monuments in the country
- After Uplistsikhe, we will head to Gori, check-in at the hotel. In our spare time, we will be able to visit the place where Stalin was born.
- Night in Gori.
Day 4
Gori - Kintsvisi - Borjomi - Akhaltsikhe
Bike tour: 149 km 9 hrs (↑1290 m. ↓930 m)
- Breakfast
- In the morning, we will go by bike to the church of Kintsvisi, which is distinguished by its beautiful frescoes. After visiting this beautiful monastery, we will pass several churches and castles along the way and then drive to Akhaltsikhe, the administrative center of South Georgia.
- Along the way, we will visit village of Borjomi, which is hidden in the green. Borjomi is a famous balneological and climatic station. While walking in Borjomi Central Park, we can taste the famous mineral water.
- Night in Akhaltsikhe.
Day 5
Akhaltsikhe - Vardzia
Bike tour: 65 km. 4 hrs. (↑870 m. ↓560 m)
- Breakfast
- Today, we will travel entirely by bicycle. We will start the journey relatively early in the morning as you have a long and tiring road ahead. On the way we stop at the fortress of Khertvisi, take pictures, visit this medieval defensive structure.
- We continue cycling to Vardzia, check in at the hotel and a delicious lunch awaits us in a local family.
- Then visit Vardzia Monastery Complex, which is the largest of the rock-cut cities in Georgia and can be easily seen from afar. Lodging in Vardzia
Day 6
Vardzia - Akhalkalaki
Bike tour: 46 km. 4 hrs. (↑830 m ↓380 m)
- Breakfast
- Today, we travel entirely by bicycle. We cycle to Akhalkalaki, which is located on a volcanic plateau.
- In the afternoon, we will have free time to relax. You can do several master classes if you are interested.
- Accommodation in Akhalkalaki.
Day 7
Akhalkalaki - Tbilisi
Bike tour: 74 km. 4 hrs. (↑520 m ↓1700 m)
- Breakfast
- In the morning, we will head to the largest lake in Georgia - Paravni, from where our bike trip begins to Tbilisi. We will pass through several lakes, where a delicious lunch will be served in the fish restaurant.
- Accommodation in Tbilisi.
