Your Detailed Itinerary

Day 0

Day 1

Airport – Bishkek (30 km, about 30 minutes)

Arrival in Bishkek in the morning. Money exchange for Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan trip
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Afternoon. City tour in Bishkek with visits to Historical Museum, Oak Park, Ala-Too Square, Manas Statue and Philharmonic Hall.
Dinner at the local restaurant with music and dance.
Hotel accommodation. (Meal B/L/D)

The Museum and the Bazaars are closed on Mondays

Day 2

Bishkek - Burana - Kochkor / Chon Kemin (200 km, about 3 hours drive + time for all stops)

Breakfast.
Excursion to the famous Osh bazaar in Central Asia.
Transfer to Kochkor/Chon-Kemin.
Lunch with the local family, you can taste national cuisine.
Visit the ruins of the ancient city of Balasagyn and the Burana Tower.
A stop at Boom Canyon where you can try traditional Kattama bread.
Visit the felt carpet workshop, where you can not only buy souvenirs, but also participate in its production. Women’s Cooperative members show and tell us how to make felt carpets.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (Meal B/L/D)

Day 3

Kochkor / Chon Kemin - Tamga (170 km, about 3 hours driving + time for all stops)

Breakfast.
Transfer to Lake Issyk-Kul, Tamga yurt camp. The lake is considered the second largest mountain lake in the world at an altitude of 1607 meters above sea level. Along the way we make a stop in the village Kyzyl-Tuu. This village is famous for its talented craftsmen, who make wooden yurt parts. The craftsman will show us the production process of Yurts.
Lunch with the family who makes yurts.
Transfer to Jaichi Gorge with stunning views of the mountains. Here we see the Eagle Hunt show. The hunter will tell you more about the hunting process and about the birds. Next stop at Tamga Military Resort, whose construction began in 1932. During Soviet times it was the resource for Russian astronauts, who had to acclimate after space flights. Host Fist at the complex was the Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin.
We continue to Tamga.
Dinner and overnight at the Nomad Lodge yurt camp by the shore.

Day 4

Tamga - Karakol (140 km, about 2 hours driving + time for all stops)

Breakfast.
Transfer to Karakol. Karakol is a town in Kyrgyzstan east of Lake Issyk-Kul. On the way visit to Barskoon Gorge. One of the most beautiful gorges in Kyrgyzstan. This unique place is a state natural monument. The height from which the stream descends is about 100 meters. The walk lasts about 30-40 minutes to the first point of great view. After the hike will be served small table over nature with local champaign and fruits.
In the afternoon visit to the valley of Djety-Oguz. Djety-Oguz in Kyrgyz means «seven bulls». This picturesque gorge is named after the reddish sand formations covered with Tien-Shan spruce forests. Walking about 30 minutes in both directions to the best view of «Seven Bulls».
Lunch with the Dungan family. A small nationality migrated to the territory of modern Kyrgyzstan 400 years ago, fled China because of the Muslim religion.
City tour in Karakol. The construction of Karakol began in the late 19th century and was initially a military garrison under the Russian Empire. During the city tour you can walk through the old streets and wooden houses of that time. Visit the Russian Orthodox Church, Dungan Mosque, Victoria Park.
Dinner in the restaurant where you can taste delicious local trout fish.

Day 5

Karakol –- Reina Kench – Hot Spring – Karakol (in total for the day around 200 km)

Breakfast.
Cooperative visit of honey production where beekeepers count on the production and diversity of honey in the Issyk-Kul region.
Visit the agricultural complex «Reina-Kench», where you will learn about the breeding of purebred horses and Arashan rams in this farm.
Return to Karakol. Dinner with Uighur family. Masterclass of preparing handmade noodles for traditional Lagman food. You will try Lagman during dinner in the family.

Day 6

Karakol – Kegen border - Saty (220 km, around 6 hours + time for all stops)

Breakfast.
Excursion to the Prijevalsky Museum. Famous explorer of the Far East and Central Asia in the 19th century, zoologist, ethnographer, geographer. It gained worldwide fame as a result of four expeditions to Central Asia.
Transfer to the Kol-Say Natural Park, which is located in Kazakhstan. Before crossing the border, you will visit the San-Tash barrow. Saint-Tash means counted stones.
Lunch as a picnic in nature in a picturesque location.
Border formalities on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border with Kegen. Border formalities take approximately 1 hour.
Arrival at Kol-Say Natural Park.

Day 7

Saty – Almaty (320 km 4-5 hours of driving+ time for all stops)

Breakfast.
Transfer to the bus parking near Kol-Say lake, walking tour about 30-40 minutes to the view of the first Kol-Say lake. The mountain lake, emerald in good weather, framed by a coniferous forest.
Transfer to Charyn Canyon (1.5h on the way). Charyn Canyon, is an amazing creation of nature that has existed for millions of years, picturesque and very diverse in geomorphological aspects. The height of the steep slopes reaches 150-300 meters. Numerous ravines and ravines make dense network rambla. The wind and water created impressive «Red Castles Valley». Along the valley you are surrounded by towers of fantastic shapes, built with sedimentary. Over time nature has created these architectural wonders, without haste, has built majestic castles.
Walking to the canyon view for about 3 km in both directions.
Lunch at the Charyn Canyon coffee shop.
Transfer to Almaty about 4-5 hours, the time depends on the traffic jam in Almaty.

Day 8

Almaty

Breakfast.
Walk around Almaty. Transfer to the Asian Green Bazaar in the morning, getting to know the old part Astana Square, Panfilovtsev Park 28, Zenkov Cathedral (monument of Christian worship architecture in Kazakhstan). Visit to the Museum of Musical Instruments, Abai Theatre. A walk down the pedestrian street, which appeared in 1883 and has the name of Silk Road, here you can see the works of street artists and listen to local musicians, buy souvenirs. Transfer to the Republic Square and Independence Monument, Historical Museum.
Lunch at the local restaurant.
Transfer to Medeo Gorge. It is one of the most famous sights in Kazakhstan because it is the highest mountain resort for winter sports in the world! The well-developed infrastructure and proximity to the city makes it very attractive to visit at any time of the year. You will find lovely nature, clean mountain air and views of images, you have the opportunity to walk to the top of wet Medeo with good lookout point and have a flavored coffee. Cable car tour to the gorge.
Back to Almaty.
Farewell dinner at the local restaurant.
